Bob Gibson is well known in the Canadian and international information industry as founder of Micromedia Limited, now ProQuest Micromedia.
Leadership
Bob steered Micromedia through the infancy of the electronic publishing industry. In its role as aggregator, Micromedia had contractual relationships with thousands of Canadian institutional, commercial and periodical publishers. Among Bob's primary activities at Micromedia were publisher relations, electronic rights management and systems development.
Knowledge Through Experience
Bob has played an active role in the ongoing effort to establish a positive presence for the Canadian Information Industry. He is past Chairman of the Advisory Board on Scientific and Technical Information, National Research Council of Canada, and the Information Industries Committee of the Information Technology Association of Canada. Prior to founding Micromedia, he spent eight years with educational publisher Holt Rinehart & Winston of Canada in a variety of editorial and sales management positions.
He is now offering his expertise and services to Canadian publishers seeking revenue opportunities in electronic publishing.
